Dermal fillers work differently than treatments like Botox or Dysport to lessen the appearance of aging. Rather than relaxing the muscles that create wrinkles, fillers like Restylane and Juvederm fill in areas to offset the loss of collagen and elastin in the facial tissues that occur over time.
Injectable fillers are usually injected into the nasolabial folds (aka smile lines), marionette lines (which extend from the corner of the mouth down), perioral vertical lines, on the border of the lips, or to plump them up, when injected, creates a smooth and natural look for patients without any noticeable scars or bruises.
