Our Weight Loss Program in Houston

Perhaps the most important service we provide here at Marshall Back and Body Wellness Center, in Houston, is our weight loss program.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, there are over 70 million obese adult Americans, which is defined as having a body mass index equal to or greater than 30 (calculate your own BMI by visiting here).

Obesity in Texas is a major problem. According to the Department of State Health Services, the local economy suffered with productivity, lost wages, and other costs to the tune of $10.5 billion due to obesity.

Besides the cosmetic downsides of obesity, it can cause diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, stroke, heart disease, cancer, gallstones, gout, arthritis, and sleep apnea.

Here at Marshall Back and Body Wellness Center in Houston, our weight loss program has helped thousands of patients fight obesity by losing weight without resorting to “yo-yo dieting”. And since we also offer a wide variety of medical spa services, we can make our patients look their absolute best after addressing obesity.

To get started, we offer one on one counseling sessions with Dr. Saghy Motamedy, and to benchmark weight loss goals, we measure body fat, BMI, and caloric intake.

Besides advice on diet and exercise, we offer safe, non-pharmaceutical injections of B12 (a combination of vitamins, amino acids and minerals) and a fat burner, which can boost energy and metabolism to aid in weight loss. They are, an appetite suppressant may also be prescribed.

Obesity can be caused by a void between caloric intake and exercise, as well as a number of outside factors, such as genetics, a poor diet and eating habits, a slow metabolism, medications, and disease.
